Thank you for your interest in the conservation and restoration of your painting. To help me understand the condition of your artwork and provide an initial assessment and estimate, please send the following information by email:
- a photo of the full front of the painting
- a photo of the full reverse, if accessible
- any areas of damage, tears, flaking paint, losses, stains or previous repair
- please provide the height x width of the painting
- materials and technique
- also let me know the support (canvas, panel, board)
Initial Assessment
The painting will receive a professional condition assessment, including examination of the support, paint layers, surface coatings and any previous interventions.
Where appropriate, examination under magnification, raking light and UV light will be carried out. Based on the findings, I will provide a condition report and proposed conservation treatment plan, together with an indicative cost range.
A detailed quotation will be confirmed following the in-person examinations.

Terms and Conditions
1,Quotations and estimates
Following an initial assessment, I will provide an estimated treatment cost and timescale. Where possible, photos can be used for an initial assessment, however, the final treatment proposal and cost may need to be confirmed following physical examination and appropriate cleaning tests.
The estimated cost covers the treatment described in the agreed proposal. If additional treatment becomes necessary during the course of the work, this will be discussed with and agreed by the client before proceeding.
2, Condition and treatment
A condition assessment will be carried out before treatment begins. Where appropriate, a written condition report and treatment plan will be provided.
Conservation treatment is undertaken with the aim of preserving the artwork and its original character. Every effort will be made to use appropriate, stable and reversible conservation methods. The final appearance may be affected by the existing condition, previous treatments, ageing and inherent characteristics of the artwork.
3, Deposit and payment
A 50% deposit is required before conservation work begins. The remaining balance is payable upon completion of the treatment and before the artwork is collected or returned.
4, Collection and delivery
Unless otherwise agreed, the client is responsible for arranging the safe transportation of the artwork to and from the studio. I do not provide transportation services.
The client is responsible for ensuring that the artwork is adequately protected during transportation.
5, Completion and collection
The client will be contacted when the treatment is complete. Artwork should be collected within an agreed period. Where an artwork remains at the studio for an extended period after completion, additional storage arrangements or charges may apply by prior agreement.
6, Photography and documentation
Photographs may taken before, during and after conservation for condition documentation and records. These photographs may also be used for professional portfolio, website and social media purposes. If the client does not wish photographs of their artwork to be used for marketing purposes, they should notify me in writing before treatment begins.
7, Frames and additional treatment
Any treatment to frames,mounts or other associated elements will be discussed and quoted separately unless specifically included in the agreed treatment proposal.
8, Changes to the treatment
Conservation treatment may reveal previously concealed condition issues or earlier interventions. If this affects the proposed treatment, the client will be informed and any additional work will require the client’s agreement before proceeding.
9, Liability
Reasonable care will be taken at all stages of the conservation process. However, artworks can contain inherent weakness, previous repairs or unstable materials that may not be apparent before treatment. The conservator cannot be held responsible for deterioration arising from such pre-existing conditions or inherent characteristics.
10, Acceptance
Acceptance of the quotation and payment of the deposit confirms the client’s agreement to these Terms& Conditions and to the treatment proposal provided.
11, Insurance
Aniko Dioszegi warrants that all reasonable care will be given to the artworks whilst in her custody but no responsibility can be accepted for loss or damage howsoever caused.
We are insured by Hiscox and AN members Public and Products Liability and Professional Idemnity Insurance and Personal Accident cover which’s details can be requested and the insurance policy can be sent over.
It is your responsibility to ensure that the artwork is covered by your own insurance policy at all times. However, if specifically requested we will cover the item under our own policy, subject to a sum insured being provided by you. We can take no responsibility for the accuracy of the Sum Insured.
The insurance (if required) will be subject to the terms and conditions of our insurance policy, a copy of which is available upon request.
