Portrait painting

Perhaps of all the paintings I worked on, cleaning this up was the most spectacular solution .
The dirt dissolved nicely which was especially important so that the solvent composition did not wet the panel substrate.
This photo shows how different the two sides are, which have already been cleaned and which are not.
After filling the losses, the varnishing and retouching remains. The cotton swabs show the dirt layer.
